SFC Sterling Holehan

Ranger
SFC Holehan became an MSI instructor in January of 2025. Graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in International Business from the U of A in 2018. In October of 2010 he enlisted in the United States Army. 
 
Shortly after enlistment, SFC Holehan attended Ranger Assessment and Selection (RASP) in the summer of 2011. After being selected, he was first assigned to B. Co, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment as an M203 Grenadier, Automatic Riflemen, and Gun Team Leader. He Deployed 3 times in support of the War on Terror from 2011 to 2014 in Afghanistan. In 2015 he was accepted into the 3rd Ranger Battalion Sniper section. He deployed 2 more times both to Afghanistan and Iraq as a Sniper from 2015 to 2017.
 
SFC Holehan continued on to serve in the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Targeting and Acquisition (RSTA) Platoon and deployed for a 6th time to Afghanistan in support of Technical Surveillance operations. He then served in the Regimental Technical Reconnaissance Detachment where he used clandestine methods to locate terrorists across the globe by deploying a 7th time to Afghanistan.  In Summer of 2023 he was assigned to 4th Ranger Battalion as an instructor for the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course (RSLC) where he taught land navigation, small unit tactics, and advanced communications. 
 
SFC Holehan is happily married to his wife Alivia and lives in the foothills with their 3 daughters. They enjoy travelling and cooking together.
 
SFC Holehan's Military school Includes the Basic Airborne course, Jumpmaster course, Ranger Course, Air Assault Course, Pathfinder Course, Squad Designated marksmen course and certification, Army Sniper Course, Technical Operations Infiltration Course, MTSC, as well as JSOC Tech Ops and Embedded Systems and surveillance courses.
 
SFC Holehans Awards Include 3 Joint Service Commendation Medals, 1 W/C Device, 2 Army Commendation Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, 6 Army Achievement medals, 4 Army Good Conduct Medals, Ranger Tab, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Airborne Badge,  Combat Infantrymen's Badge, Expert Infantrymen's Badge, and Expert Marksmanship Badge.
