LTC Rich Ingleby

LTC Rich Ingleby is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2006 and subsequently received his commission in the Field Artillery. He additionally completed a Master's in Military History from Norwich University in 2011.

His first assignment was as a Fire Direction Officer in the 4-319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, based in Bamberg, Germany. During this time, he was deployed as part of the Surge to RC-East Afghanistan, where he spent 15 months firing artillery in support of Task Force Rock Paratroopers engaged in the mountains along the Pakistani border.

Next assigned to the 2-77th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado, he was assigned as a Battalion Fire Direction Officer, Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, and Commander of Bravo Battery. During this time, he again deployed to RC-East Afghanistan, again providing artillery fire for troops in combat at the battery level.

In 2012, Rich was assigned to the Vancouver Recruiting Company, commanding all Army recruiting across Southwest Washington and Portland, Oregon. Following this assignment, he then served at Weber State University Army ROTC in Ogden, Utah, training future officer cadets from 2014-2016.

In 2017 he graduated from the Command and General Staff College, where he was assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Serving initially as a Brigade Fire Support Officer, he was deployed to Train Advise, and Assist Command – South in Kandahar Afghanistan. There he served as the Fire Support Coordinator for the division headquarters and was responsible for all strikes within south-east Afghanistan. Upon redeployment, he served as a Battalion Operations Officer and Battalion Executive Officer in the 3-319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment. During this time, he was part of the “New Year’s Day” deployment to Kuwait, the 82nd's first truly no-notice emergency deployment of the nation’s Immediate Response Force (IRF).

Upon return, Rich was next assigned to Fort Sill, Oklahoma in 2020, serving for two years as the Secretary of the General Staff to the Commanding General. He then had the honor of serving for one year as the Executive Officer to the Field Artillery Commandant. He arrived at the University of Arizona Army ROTC in the Summer of 2023, proud to be a Wildcat and a part of this great team.

LTC Ingleby’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Ribbon, the Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Recruiting Badge, and both Dutch and British Jump Wings.
