CPT Jake McKeen

CPT McKeen grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he participated in a variety of sports, with golf becoming his primary interest. He graduated from Indiana University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as an Officer Candidate and completed Basic Combat Training in 2017. He graduated from Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2018 before completing the Transportation Basic Officer Leader Course.

 

CPT McKeen’s first assignment was with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He served as a Transportation Platoon Leader with Alpha Company, 526th Brigade Support Battalion; Maintenance Control Officer with Hatchet Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment; and Executive Officer of Bravo Company, 526th Brigade Support Battalion.

 

Following completion of the Logistics Captains Career Course at Fort Lee, Virginia, CPT McKeen was assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He served as the Deputy Support Operations Officer for the 307th Brigade Support Battalion and later commanded Hatchet Forward Support Company, 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He subsequently served as an Operations Officer and Interim Distribution Integration Branch Chief with the 82nd Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade.

 

CPT McKeen arrived at the University of Arizona in the summer of 2025 with his wife, Samantha, and daughter, Emma. He is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration at the University of Arizona.

 

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Pathfinder Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
