Sergeant First Class Madison assumed the role of a Military Science Instructor at the University of Arizona Wildcat Battalion on August 10, 2018.  He is a native of Chicago, IL and in August 1999 he enlisted in the Army as an 11M Mechanized Infantryman. 

Sergeant First Class Madison’s assignments include:  A Co. 2nd BN 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, FT. Hood, TX.  There he served as a gunner for the M249 squad automatic weapon, M60/ M240B machine gun, M203 grenadier, and team leader.  While serving with this unit he deployed to Kuwait for Operation Desert Spring from December 2000 to April 2001.  Served as a section leader and squad leader in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 1-2 (2003-2004) and Operation Iraqi Freedom 5 (2006-2007) with A Co. 1st BN 6th IN Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, DE.; served as a Drill Sergeant with C Co. 2nd BN 60th IN Regiment, 193rd IN BDE FT. Jackson, S.C.; a Drill Sergeant Leader (Instructor/ Writer) at the United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy FT. Jackson, S.C.; Platoon Sergeant with 1st BN 27th IN Regiment Schofield Barracks, HI.; S3 NCOIC for 8th Special Troops BN, 8th Theater Sustainment Command FT. Shafter, HI.; senior trainer for the Asia Pacific Counter-IED Fusion Center (APCFC) FT. Shafter, HI.; Platoon Sergeant B Co. 1st BN 6th IN Regiment; Platoon Sergeant B Co. 4th BN 17th IN Regiment.  He deployed to Afghanistan with this unit in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (2017).  

SFC Madison’s awards include: Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3OLC/ C), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/ star), Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/ 2 stars).  Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Education System (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4). 

SFC Madison has attended a variety of military resident courses including Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, First Sergeant, and Commanders Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Drill Sergeant School, Combat Life Saver Course, Combatives Level I&II, and Asymmetric Warfare Group Training.

He was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Drill Sergeant ID Badge, Basic Parachutist Wings, and Air Assault Wings, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, and Sergeant Audie Murphy Club Medallion. 

He is married to the former Grace Cabalbag of San Diego, CA.  They have been married for 17 years and have six children.
