Lt. Colonel Walters grew up in Utah, Idaho and North Dakota; in 1989 he enlisted in the active Army as a Multiple Launch Rocket Crew member. In 1994 he was awarded an Army Green to Gold Scholarship and attended Weber State University, Ogden Utah. In 1996 he graduated as the ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Transportation Corps.
As a company grade officer, he served as a transportation company platoon leader and company executive officer for the 119th Transportation Company, Ft. Story, Virginia. He then served in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, as a detachment commander for the 831st Military Traffic Management Command. His next assignment was as the Task Force Falcon Transportation Officer, Camp Bondsteele, Kosovo followed with duty as the 1st Armored Division Deputy Division Transportation Officer, Wiesbaden Germany. In 2003, Lt. Colonel Walters commanded the 41st Palletized Load System (PLS) Transportation Company where he deployed the Company to Iraq to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom. On his return from Iraq, Lt. Colonel Walters served as the Battalion Operations officer for the 18th Corps Support Battalion. In 2005, he was assigned to the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) where he served as the Aide-de-Camp to the AAFES Commanding General.
Lt. Colonel Walters most recent assignments include Battalion Support Operations Officer and Battalion Executive Officer for the 524th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), and the 45th Sustainment Brigade Deputy Support Operations Officer, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. While serving at the Battalion Executive Officer for the 524th CSSB he deployed to Afghanistan and participated in Operation Enduring Freedom.
Lt. Colonel Walters has attended the Army Transportation Officer’s Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course and Intermediate Level Education at the Army’s Command and General Staff College. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Management from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri.
Lt. Colonel Walters is married to the former Ms. Isabelle Nilsson from Stockholm Sweden and they have two children, Henrik six and Sophia three.
